History
In 1978 James Snidle came to Chico to pursue a Masters degree in Art. In 1980 James successfully completed this goal, earning a M.A. degree from California State University Chico with an emphasis in both ceramics and drawing. Over the past 20 years James has received recognition for his work in various mediums. Showing primarily in California, James also shows and is in numerous collections through out the United States. Since 1989, James has been the owner of James Snidle Fine Arts and Appraisals. Exhibiting both local and national artists, James Snidle Fine Arts and Appraisals also offers services in consulting and appraising fine arts and collectables. In 2002 James moved to San Francisco to be closer to the vitality the Bay Area offers in terms of the arts and for professional pursuits. Though James is now maintaining an office in San Francisco, he continues to offer services in Chico for one week out of each month. In 2007 James successfully completed the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice course and passed the required examination.
